GUERNSEY, Wyo. (April 10, 2025) – Visionary Broadband has begun construction of a fiber internet network in Guernsey, with plans to connect 450 homes and businesses by the end of May.
The build will bring high-speed, future-proofed internet service to homes and community infrastructure.
“This project brings fiber directly to homes and businesses in Guernsey,” said Visionary Broadband CEO Brian Worthen. “This community deserves a network that can support everything from everyday use to critical services.”
Connecting rural communities remains a priority for Visionary, which is committed to expanding reliable, high-speed internet access across underserved areas. Local officials say the improved service will support both residents and essential facilities.
“Reliable internet is vital for the growth of Guernsey,” said Guernsey Mayor Ed Delgado. “We’re glad to see real progress, and we look forward to better service across our town
that’s on par with larger cities.”
Because Visionary’s project includes a new backbone in and out of Guernsey, the town will have improved reliability as compared to what is available at present. The project will also enhance wireless service in the area by upgrading the infrastructure that supports wireless internet in Platte County surrounding Guernsey.
