CASPER, WY – (Nov. 4, 2024) – Visionary Broadband has launched construction of a fiber internet network set to bring high-speed connectivity to Bar Nunn.
This marks the first time fiber internet will be available in Bar Nunn, underscoring Visionary Broadband’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in Wyoming’s rural communities.
This project is a “greenfield” build, meaning it involves brand-new construction, not an upgrade or an overbuild on existing infrastructure. The work is being carried out without subsidies, representing a significant investment by Visionary Broadband to provide future-proofed, reliable internet access to Bar Nunn residents.
“Our mission is to provide essential internet infrastructure where it’s needed most, and that includes rural areas that have traditionally been underserved,” said Visionary Broadband CEO Brian Worthen. “We want Bar Nunn to receive the same quality of access as its neighboring communities and even large cities.”
The initiative brings a level of internet access the community has never had before, enabling faster connections and improved online experiences for residents, businesses and governments.
“Bringing fiber internet to Bar Nunn opens new opportunities for our residents and local businesses,” said Bar Nunn Mayor Peter Boyer. “This is a major step forward in improving the quality of life and ensuring that our community stays connected.”
As part of its strategy to invest in the future of Wyoming’s communities, Visionary Broadband has already built fiber networks in Casper, Mills and Evansville.
